Alan Horsfall was a professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s and '50s who at club level played for Leeds, and Castleford playing at Prop, i.e. number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums.[1][2]
Alan Horsfall's début came in the 17-32 defeat to Wigan at Headingley on 24 November 1945, he was transferred to Castleford on 10 January 1955 in part-exchange for Joseph "Joe" Anderson, and was the bag man for the Leeds teams of the 1970s, and early 1980s.
